The NAAP Leadership Team is grateful to work in partnership with NCCAP to further strengthen the role of the Activity Profession and the Activity Professional.
The NAAP and NCCAP Boards are comprised of professionals who have served in a variety of different roles within the field of Activities: current and former Activity Directors, plus Consultants, Educators and Administrators who bring expertise from years of experience in Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Short Term/Post-Acute, Adult Day Care and Home Care. Together the Boards seek to build renewed trust with members as we collaborate on strategies that promote the continued empowerment and elevation of the profession. We know there’s work to be done: we routinely receive stories about Activity Professionals who are overworked and underpaid, and whose impact is grossly undervalued by both their boss and their management team colleagues. We can only succeed if we work together as the professional association and the certifying body to ensure that:
- Activity Professionals have access to high quality education that meets their needs, regardless of their years of experience, background or environment in which they work.
- Our professionalism is validated by having certification with rigorous standards and expectations.
- Our national associations are actively engaged with others in the senior living field both in the United States and abroad so that we remain on the forefront of new developments and trends, and a profession of influence as regulations are revised and rewritten.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing many of you in a few weeks in Charleston!
