National Association of Activity Professionals – Activity Professional Survey Results
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our survey which included 8 questions focusing on individual location, salary, staffing, and the type of facility worked in.
We had a total of 361 responses. 248 of those responses came from direct mail and a link on our website. 113 responses were through our social media posts. We also received similar surveys from the state associations in New Jersey and Ohio.
Respondents were from all over the country including the East and West coast with many states in between.
Rural setting – 47.77%
Urban setting – 52.23%
The Activity Director’s salary ranged anywhere between $12/hour to $45/hour. The average salary was $18 – $22/hour. East coast had higher salary ranges compared to the west coast.
The Activity Assistant’s salary ranged between $10 – $18/hour. Again, the east coast had a higher salary range.
Every style of facility was represented. The most popular was CCRC and Long-Term Care.
The final question focused on certification. I have included a graphic for all to review on certification. It was noted that the East coast answered with being Nationally Certified and the West coast responded with mostly state certification. Please see the graph below:
